CureMount™ Mounting Medium

Curemount™ is a permanent mounting medium for dehydrated and cleared sections.
- Remove the slide from Xylene and drain well, but do not dry.
- Dispense a couple of drops of Curemount™ over the section. The amount of mounting medium will depend on the size of the area to be covered. Place coverslip over section. Exercise care to avoid forming bubbles. Avoid mounting medium overflow. Any excess should be wiped away before curing.
- Place the slide under a UV lamp within 1-inch of a fluorescent UV lamp that emits light at a wavelength of 360nm. In 30-60 seconds the polymer will be cured. The coverslipped slide will be DRY and microscope-ready.
The mounting medium cures to a refractive index of 1.55. If you are using adhesive coated slides, it will make the polymerized layer invisible in the microscope.
For a short time after curing, the cover slip can be removed by briefly heating the slide. After a longer period, the slide should be immersed in Xylene until the cover slip can be removed.
