Dry-Keeper™
EMS #71217, 71217-HZ
Introduction
The Dry-Keeper™ is a non-vacuum, electrically operated unit with dial hygrometer in the door.
Special Instructions
Do not use this cabinet to store volatile or flammable material.
Caution
- Before using the desiccator for the first time, be sure to run it for 24 hours while empty. This will ensure that items will be placed into a dry environment.
- Place on a level surface.
- Avoid sunlight, moist areas and high temperatures.
- Do not cover the openings, which will impede the expelling of humidity while unit is on.
- Do not overload the cabinet.
- Do not put anything on the door.
- Do not place moist objects nearby.
- To avoid damaging the door, open and close it carefully.
Notice
- The hygrometer supplied with this desiccator cabinet is not a precise indicator of the percent of relative humidity shown on the dial. If a more precise measure of the actual relative humidity in the cabinet is needed, place a portable hygrometer in the cabinet.
- When the drying mechanism is working, the hygrometer reading becomes lower after the unit has been plugged in for one complete cycle (5 hours or more).
Directions for Use
- Place the cabinet on a level surface.
- Adjust shelf height to accommodate items and place items on shelves.
- Plug into a 115V outlet to start the continuous automatic drying cycles. A GREEN light will illuminate for approximately 4.5 hours while in the drying cycle, as the cabinet humidity is lowered. A RED light will illuminate for approximately 0.5 hour at the end of the dry cycle, indicating that the absorbed moisture is being expelled into the atmosphere.
- For maximum long term drying performance, do not leave the door open and do not disconnect the cabinet from the electrical source.
Cleaning the Cabinet
Use a soft cloth only. Do not use abrasive cleansers as they will scratch the surfaces.
