The most common source of damage to glass surfaces and sensitive optical coatings is abrasion, which is caused by rubbing of fine particles that are resting on the surface. We stress that you do not dry clean your lens because of high risk for scratching and abrading of the coating. We do however, recommend the following:
Should any streaking or residue remain after cleaning and drying, it is most likely due to either a tentative application or a lengthy interval that has passed since the last cleaning. Should that prove to be the case, a second application and drying might be required to restore the surface to the desired result. We highly recommend a regular maintenance schedule to ensure that surfaces are kept residue free, thereby prolonging the life of your valuable equipment.
