This refractometer is rugged, waterproof and ideal for field use. The sophisticated microprocessor provides automatic calibration, automatic temperature compensation and automatic shutoff (after 3 minutes). It also features one-button calibration to distilled water and indicates when the battery is low. Powered by a rechargeable, long-life lithium (Li) battery, providing 50,000 tests or about a half year's use on a single charge. Some of its other features include:
Automatic shutoffThe meter is powered by one rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The AC adapter plugs into the port on the left side of the meter, providing an alternate power supply as well as recharging the battery. After 3 minutes of non-use, the power will automatically shut off.
Note: Use distilled water (refractive index 1.3330 to 1.3340).
Note: For best results, calibrate the meter at 20°C. Measurements can be taken at other temperatures, but the calibration should be done at 20°C.
After calibration, remove the distilled water from the lens and begin measurement. NOTE: Use a clean, lint-free cloth or tissue to remove solutions from the lens.
