A resharpened DiATOME knife has the same length, an identical cutting edge and carries the same guarantee of quality as a new knife. During resharpening a knife may be reworked into another type.

The diamond platform guarantees easy and gentle section collection. Sections are collected directly from the diamond surface using a loop and a sucrose/methylcellulose droplet (Refs. Liou, Peters).
