A resharpened DiATOME knife has the same length, an identical cutting edge and carries the same guarantee of quality as a new knife. During resharpening a knife may be reworked into another type.
For 3D reconstruction it is imperative not to lose a single section (M. J. F. Blumer et al., Journal of Neuroscience Methods 120, pp. 11 – 16, 2002).
